What is a reptile? A reptile is an animal with scaly skin and a skeleton.
A reptile is cold blooded. This means that they cannot warm themselves from the inside. Instead they need the sun to warm their bodies. Many spend the cold months in a deep sleep called cold blooded and hibernation.
